Her studies in acting were at Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. Within a mere two years after graduation the actress began her Broadway career. In the following year, she made her debut in TV and film. Her appearances have been on a variety of shows on stage, television and film programs since. In her professional career, she has won numerous awards including the two Golden Globe Awards. Despite her numerous awards, she still loves the theatre, and has appeared on stage and screen.
