Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Roberts is from the fourth generation of Roberts family who been a resident of Atlanta. This began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. Her father was an early interest in theater. He was a part of at the Emory University campus in 1952 and also in a variety of productions around Atlanta. In 1953, he joined the Air Force, and was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a production with Betty Lou Bredemus. The couple got married in 1955 and their first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. In 1957 the couple left the air force and Walter enrolled in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was employed as a technician by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the show Bum Bum and His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for kids known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project they self-financed. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded The Actors and Writers Workshop. It lasted for 6 years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
